U.S. men’s national team midfielder Tyler Adams had a goal to remember.

While playing Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League final Sunday, Adams broke the match open in the 44th minute.

After receiving a pass from midfielder Weston McKennie on the left side of the pitch, Adams launched a deep attempt that hit the back of the net.

Adams had his first start for the U.S. after not playing in over 470 days because of injury.

Adams, who plays for AFC Bournemouth in England, was a nine-time captain of the USMNT before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to his USMNT biography.

His first international goal also came against Mexico in the USA’s 1-0 friendly win on Sept. 11, 2018, in Nashville, Tennessee.

The U.S. won the game 2-0 against Mexico.
